Jul. 6th, 2003 05:41 pmThe Truth About Cats and Dogs was on TV this afternoon. Its a really good movie, very funny, and all that. But I have one major problem with that movie. That problem is that they try to play off that Janeane Garafalo is the ugly chick next to Uma Thurman's hottie (its sort of like the ridiculousness of casting Julia Robers as the "ugly sister" in America's Sweethearts). That just doesn't seem right to me. I mean, I know I'm not a man and all (just in case some of you were wondering), but I guess I have a hard time understand what men look for in terms of a woman's beauty. To be fair, maybe its simply Hollywood's standards. At any rate, I really don't understand it cos if I were forced to choose, I'd much rather look like Janeane Garafalo than Uma Thurman. But that's just me.
(Someone please tell me how to spell "Janeane Garafalo" correctly)

Date: 2003-07-06 03:51 pm (UTC)I've always thought the same thing. It's crazy, passing her off as ugly when she's obviously not. then again, I'm biased. I've always said that the perfect woman for me, in form, personality, style, etc. has always been Janeane Garofalo. And people have always thought that was odd when I tell them that. Which I guess says a lot about not only what men look for, but what people think men are looking for.
Then again, I was never much for Julia Roberts, so I can buy her as the 'ugly sister'. :P
