Dude, you know how many gigs I've played with guys who don't wear their wedding rings and then you can't tell they're married and then I crush on them or even flirt with them, and then they mention their wives? Man. Annoying. :-)
It didn't with my left hand fingering, when I wore a wedding ring...but then, maybe fiddle is different. I know what you're saying though. A lot of guys in the fiddle world don't wear the left hand ring. Women tend to, though, at least it seems that way.
Just what I've heard! :) I'm not married (and I don't wear rings anyway!) so I don't have my own experience to share. I can see especially in higher positions having a ring be a problem....
having been a choir dorkus for half of grade school and all of high school(then the one semester I attended northern), which has nothing to do with anything, I have to say I rather enjoyed that. It was rather a soothing piece, and visually original to watch a 4-on-1 type of......well......orgy.....is the only word that comes to mind.
Sure, but you can electrify anything, really. A five-string cello doesn't exist in the regular classical world either. Whatever this instrument is, its kind of made up.
Viola da gamba is indeed primarily a Renaissance and baroque instrument. It actually has 6 strings.
This is some sort of special 5-string electric cello thingybob. I've seen 5-string violins (which add the viola's low C), but I haven't seen a 5-string cello!
Though, I just did a quick search, and found something quite interesting. There's a company out there who's made a 7-string electric viol...very interesting. But still very different in design than the cello..thing used in that video. Link for the viol: http://www.ruby-gamba.com/index1.html
