So my last week in the country certainly has proved to be a doozy. If you're somehow unaware (head in the sand, much?) of what's going on, please reference the CPT website.

Other than that, we had a real shit week in Tuwani.

Plus, I hate saying goodbye. Its hard enough for me to make functional relationships, it seems so stupid to have to let them go. I know that when I come back on project the villagers will still be there (insh'allah), but for some reason I'm terrified that the friends I've made in Jerusalem will somehow either not be here when I get back, or completely forget about me.

I never said I was rational.

Just a few more hours.

I'd rather that this experience become a regular thing in my life, rather than just "an experience". We'll have to see what happens.

Now I'm off to lose my last game of pool.

Halas. Goodnight.

Good to hear from you. I doubt that you will be forgotten over there. It is a good thing you do for humankind. Thank you for your courage, dedication, and commitment to a better world.

Welcome back. :-) I saw the pictures your sister posted... it was certainly eye-opening.

They don't forget. I'm way farther out from my time there than I'd like to be, and they definitely don't forget. But you'll miss each other like hell.

Tcharaffna, violachic.

Inti fi Falesteen hella willa fi Amrika? Ween Tuwani? Ana fi Amrika hella, bas qabel, sakne fi Muheiam Balata wa Asira ash-Shemaliyye.

Ok, my arabic sucks. I never learned any past tense.

I added you too. What are the chances, really?

Oh. My. God.

You've totally hit my limit of understanding Arabic. Except for "mumkin biscott?" which the kids in the village say to us all the time....

So.... ana fi amirka. Uh... Tuwani... uh... (south of) Al-Khalil... the rest of it I'm unsure of....

Atini shekel?

Ma'andish shekel ma'i. Bas andi fi beiti.

Biscott.... shuu biscott?

I've lost so much Arabic in the last two years I'm ashamed.

You're in Palestine or the states at present?

Now I'm in the States. Got back Monday. Shit has hit the fan with the organization I work with (http://www.cpt.org).

Biscott= cookie (like the English "biscuit")

I don't have that much Arabic, but I have lots more than I did two months ago!

That's what I was guessing. I've been following the CPT stuff pretty closely but haven't seen any new information in days. I keep thinking that no news is good news.

My mind and heart are very much with them.

Thank you.

Seen this (http://electronicintifada.net/v2/article4326.shtml)?

Weird shit, dude.

Not weird at all, I think. I mean, the widespread Palestinian support of the CPTers.

I'm thankful, but not surprised, that they've been so vocal. If anything saves them it will be this.

El hamdilallah. Allah yselmhom.

I just meant the whole situation is some weird shit. I think the support has been amazing, and humbling. Tuwani had a demonstration in support of CPT my last day there! I'm also amused that we got the signatures of those political parties. Not sure why I'm amused, but I am.

Oh, and I was just saying that I lived in Balata Camp and Asira as-shemaliyye.

Tcharaffna = pleased to meet you.

I have to go home and get out my trusty B'tselem map to locate those places :-)

Nablus region, north of you. Asira is in the hills amongst the olive groves. Balata sprouts out of the side of Nablus.

I wanted to get to Nablus, but I didn't really have a lot of time/money for traveling on days off. I hear its a real experience. Besides, I wanted to see for myself the new Kalandia checkpoint. I'm sorry- "terminal".

Its gorgeous there. The people are tough, proud... Nabulsis have a history of centuries of resistance.

I'm quite fond of the city, the camp, and the region in general.

I never really travelled myself. I little here and there for logistical matters and a two day break in Beit Sahour, but that's it.

Qalundia. Pooh. I've only seen photos of the new verion. Huwwarra is something to behold too, from what I've seen.

I would have loved to get to Hebron. Maybe next time.
