Despite my "scientific" nature, I do believe in it, and I've seen it in action many times this year!!

definitely.

One of my best karma related quotes came from a former roommate ([personal profile] kajmal). I walked in the room one day and remarked something about the situation at the time... and I said, "I'm going to pay karmically for this..."

His response... "Who says you haven't already?"

I also am reminded by something my Yoga/Tantra prof said... people talk about "good" karma and "bad" karma when in actuallity, it's all just "karma"... nothing good or bad about it. You put energy out into the universe.

I think it makes sense, too... especially when I think of it in a more Crowley/Thelema sense. As above, so below... and when you get to putting energy out in the universe... it's like the energy that gets put out, good or bad... is necessary for it's opposite's existence. I think that it's good to put out good things and increasing the good out there. It's foolish, though, to believe that if you do that, you will necessarily get something good in return. Same goes with the bad stuff. Sometimes the things we label as "bad" are necessary for the growth of greater things. Do the means justify the ends? Of course not, but it shows us that the ends are unpredictable, dynamic, and don't have to necessarily be "bad" when "bad" things happen. Some of it comes down to choice.

Wait, this was all about Karma, was it not?

My answer, I guess is just to live truthfully and honestly. We are all (mostly) human, and for all energy we put out, we recieve energy in return. I believe in Karma, but I don't believe in karmic reciprocity.

yes, and no.

I am a taoist. Yin and Yang are what I live by. give and take, and thusly, yes.....Karma.

but I dont think we can always see it, or follow it.
