Viola-Joke-Of-The-Day (again, making up for lost time)

Q:What's the difference between a viola and a coffin?
A:The coffin has the dead person on the inside.

Q:What do you do with a dead violist?
A:Move him back a desk.

Q:What's the difference between a viola and a trampoline?
A:You take your shoes off to jump on a trampoline.

Q:What's the difference between a viola and an onion?
A:No one cries when you cut up a viola.

Q:What's the definition of a minor second?
A:Two violists playing in unison.

Speaking of viola-joke-of-the-day:

The fall semester of 1997, I was roomates with [livejournal.com profile] divalibby76. On our door, we had a dry erase board, so we could leave messages for each other, and other people could leave messages for us. It was great fun. One day I hit upon the bright idea of putting up a viola-joke-of-the-day. I thought it was funny, Libby thought it was funny, and the viola section thought it was funny.

However, someone did not think it was funny. After awhile, someone started erasing my jokes after I put them up. It turns out this girl across the hall was so offended by them she didn't think they were appropriate to be put up in a public viewing area.

Wait, let me get this straight.

You don't play the viola.

I do.

I'm not offended.

And you have a problem with this?

Iiiiiiiiinteresting.........

I'd forgotten about that.

People are dumb, sometimes.

Cool, a couple of ones I hadn't heard before... (Though I'm pretty sure the one with the trampoline is supposed to be about banjos.)

Guitar and recorder here (mostly, anyhow -- also mandolin, capped reeds, percussion, bass...). Just stumbled into your journal by way of someone else mentioning you. I try to keep as wide a selection of musician jokes handy as possible, so as to be able to offend everyone equally. I only know one theremin joke though.

I found these on a website that is mostly dedicated to viola jokes, but also keeps a supply of other instrument jokes on hand. The link is on my profile page, I think I call it "the best viola joke website in the world" or something. I've always said that a sense of humor is a prerequisite to playing the viola, although I'm sure you could say that about any instrument.
