For those of you who care, just in case you missed it, yesterday in his blog, Neil Gaiman officially announced (well, sort of- its more that he kind of slipped it in to see if we'd notice) that yes, he is actually dating Amanda Palmer.


For some reason, this makes me happy. Mostly because I WAS RIGHT HA HA HA!

It wouldn't entirely surprise me if he were poly, and and at first I thought this basically was him admitting it publicly, but that's because I don't really follow his personal life that closely, so I didn't know he was divorced.

He's been really quiet about his divorce. I don't think he ever mentioned it on his blog, at least not since I've been reading it.

I don't really blame him. I don't, for the most part, think that fans need to know the intimate personal details of the lives of those they're fans of. I mean, if they choose to share, that's great, but for the most part, all I care about is that they keep on doing the cool stuff they're doing :-)

The only reason I even know whom Amanda Palmer is is that someone linked me to a video of her performing "Creep" on the ukelele and I am now, for some inexplicable reason, in love with that version. In particular, there's a video of her performing it in some bar where she's left the stage behind completely and is just crowd surfing with her ukelele, getting into people's faces as she sings.

He did, a few months ago, when enough people had been asking/the rumor mill was running and he decided to address it. He's been separated for years and they divorced over a year ago. And the Amanda Palmer thing was officially made public at a "Who Killed Amanda Palmer" event a week or two ago, and in SPIN magazine.
