(no subject)

So here we are, at the finish of the first full day of Being Off Work (weekends don't count, and even if they did, this weekend was shot anyway...), and I have only accomplished one (and maybe its more like 3/4) thing on To-Do list for the week.

Its number three, if you're curious.

What I have done:

- Slept in
- Played The Sims
- Took a nap
- Played The Sims
- Realized that I need to tape the power strip my laptop is plugged into to the wall, away from my feet
- Wondered if I was going to actually make any headway on my list
- Posted on LJ about how I haven't accomplished anything

I'm assuming, considering all the sleep I've gotten today, that I won't be getting up particularly early tomorrow; but I think I am at the crazy-making stage of how messy my room is, so I'm also assuming that I won't be able to put that off any longer. Luckily, things like "doing laundry" fall naturally from things like "clean bedroom". Another fairly natural assumption, at this point, is that after today, I'm going to be burned out on The Sims for the next couple days, so at least that shouldn't be a distraction. Right now, I'm aiming for Friday and Saturday out in the 'burbs at my dad's, but we'll see about that.

And now, in an attempt to grow back some brain cells, I'm going to go find a book, and read it. Even if it is one I've read a million times before.

sounds like you have a fabulous week planned! I have today off and was unable to sleep in, even though I was up till 3 - concerts always get me wired. I'm looking forward to watching DVD's in the morning, and saunaing in the evening!

disappearinjon is married to a very close friend of mine, and I know sabotabby through LJ, through Palestine stuff. I've seen your user name around, I didn't realize we had intersections through such different ends!

I know disappearinjon from irl. Well, I met his ex-wife through an online burner regional thing, and I met him on a camping trip in 1998, but I consider him an IRL friend. I live in the Baltimore area.

I met sabotabby on the Internet, but I had already met some political people she knew in person at a conference in Baltimore. I shortly thereafter met her IRL and it turns out she knew another friend of mine quite randomly. So, she's also an IRL friend at this point.

Small world! Which is probably just an extension of Smalltimore ;).

Ever think of going to Wiscon?

YES! I have wanted to go to WisCon for AGES! But things come up, or I'm broke, or I don't get my ass in gear soon enough, or whatever. Maybe if I make plans NOW, I can make it for this year?

Memberships are pretty affordable, and if you go in on a room (ahem I haz one) that could be paid in installments or barter or what have you. Figure on food while there being no more than you normally spend on food, and reign in your book purchases while there :-D.
