So what is Amy doing up at 8:30 on a Saturday morning? It is a very valid question!

I just got back from taking [livejournal.com profile] sleepykins, [livejournal.com profile] histrogeek, and Habibi to the airport; they are going to spend a week in St John, with some of [livejournal.com profile] histrogeek's family. And yes, I have already ribbed them about not taking their nanny on vacation with them this time.

But that is okay, because I have things to do! Oh boy, do I have things to do... in no particular order:

1) Do Disaster Relief Response on my bedroom- I really do think that is the best analogy, at this point, I don't think it has ever been quite this crazy before- which includes:

a. laundry, lots and lots of laundry
b. finding homes (somewhere in my room, that is- I am not giving things away!) for all clothing, books, CDs, etc., that are lying around
c. hang bulletin boards
d. possibly hang canopy netting and other things that require hanging (this will require assistance from a fully able-bodied person who is familiar with tools)
e. put new light bulb in overhead light
f. give or throw away obsolete clothing
g. create workable office-type space at desk

2) Find a way to get my DVDs and VHSs organized-ish in the library so things can be found on whim

3) Get myself acquainted with the ways of wordpress.com

4) Post on wordpress.com

5) Do some Palestine activism planning with [livejournal.com profile] whereisjoy, and related research

6) Find suitable decorations for Habibi's "Star Trek: The Toddler Generation" birthday party in two weeks (the theme was not my idea!)

7) Do more research on this whole doula thing- I've been advised that, as someone who does have a physical disability, being a birth doula might not work very well, but that there is even more need for post-partum doulas than birth doulas

8) Go spend a couple days at my dad's, finishing cleaning out my childhood bedroom, so he can start thinking about maybe selling the house

9) While there, play with dogs

10) Catch up on work for my Tuesday night classes, that I got behind on from being sick basically from Halloween to New Year's

... and I'm sure there are other things that will occur to me as the week progresses, but that's what I've got for right now. So my week will be full, even though I will not be spending 9-10 hours a day with an almost-two year old. I admit, I am looking forward to #9 the most- I miss my puppies, especially the 90-lb shepherd/yellow lab mix who thinks he is a lap dog.

Anyone who would like to claim some of my time during the week, speak up now! I am occupied Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and need to retrieve aforementioned family from the airport on Saturday evening. Other than that, not a lot of what I have to do needs to be scheduled exactly, so I am fairly flexible. I don't have any money, but although I don't want to drive it around a whole lot, I do have their car, so I am capable of getting somewhere if needed.

So with that in mind, while I wait the next hour for breakfast/community meeting, I will mosey on over to wordpress, and see what I can find.

Cheers!
