it's my Grandma H's birthday today.

Or would be, if she were still with us. I'm really trying to finish a sweater for her. Okay, for me, but to make up for the last one that she made for me that i never wore.

Tomorrow - it'll be the 28th anniversary of John Lennon's death (December 8, 1980). I was just a little kid, but I was old enough to remember the moment when we heard about it on the radio, and I knew enough about him even at that age to know what a great loss it was. I still automatically remember the date, the same way people from my parents' generation remember the Kennedy assassination.
