I'm willing to give it a shot. I didn't think Transformers was going to be any good (Michael Bay has not been given a good track record with me), but he managed to do a fairly decent job. So, I'm willing to see what J.J. will do with this. It should be better than Star Trek Nemesis, that's for sure.
I'm willing to give it a try. Star Trek definitely needs some re-imagining, and trailers often look silly anyway-- I think they're trying to appeal to people who might not normally be into the "Star Trek" brand, so to speak. So we'll see if it's actually any good or not...
This makes more sense now! Livejournal was messing up everything that was embedded on my friends page. I have no idea who embedded it where, but this is what came up under your star trek trailer (I'm not joking):
I had the strangest sense of deja vu watching that, despite the fact that I'm pretty sure I haven't seen Johnny Rotten being chased by cows in the British countryside before.
As for Star Trek, I'll give it a shot, but it seems far too action-y.
Wasn't it the action in Star Trek II that made it the memorable film it was? People were apparently falling asleep during ST:TMP (I liked it, myself, but people thought it was boring). Now, action for action's sake is pretty bad, but I'll need to see the film to see how the action fits in the film.
As a casual fan, (I watch and like the shows and movies, but wouldn't consider myself a Trekker) I have to ask.....how is it not Star Trek? It looks like it's going to be great, to me.
