Okay, so there is one thing that has been noticed and mentioned since I got THE HAIRCUT.

It is not clear if it is because I don't have all the hair down my back to distract the eye, or if it is because cutting the hair actually did something, or what.

But I have a whole TON of gray hair coming in on top. A WHOLE TON.

I mean, don't let the pictures fool you, that's just flash reflection.

But its clearly obvious enough to the myriad of people who have either asked about it or agreed with me that its there.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not one of those people who is all worried about aging and stuff. But I do feel that 31 is too young for this much gray hair. Not that I haven't done enough to deserve it.

But that's the thing. I deserve it. I've earned it. I'm going to wear it with pride.

my guess is, the weight of it covered it. mine (i've got total salt-and-pepper along the hairline) is MUCH more apparrent right after i've cut it, than when it's about due.

The gray is definitely kicking in for me, and at this point, I'm keeping it. I have not lost any hair, apart from my high hairline, so the old adage of inheriting your mother's father's hair may be appropriate for me. That being said, I'd rather go gray and have George Clooney's hair than Ronald Reagan's hair.

(A college friend, who was one year behind me, started going gray when she was 19 or 20. She kept it for a while, but the last time I saw her, she dyed it.)

i have massive amounts of grey hair coming in, i have been going gray since high school. it is bad now, at 33. 33. i am so gray on top that i am afraid that dye is no longer going to cover it.

and i like the haircut. it looks good.

Hm, well, my Mum started going gray before she was out of high school, so by the time she had me, IE your age, it was far enough gone that I'm not even actually sure what color her hair even was because I've never known anything else. (OTOH, my dad mostly kept his color til the end... if you don't count the bald, anyway. :) ) I started noticing a few gray hairs round 30, but the current dyejob is more an act of generalized up-yours-convention defiance than anything. ;)

It's good you have a positive view of it. I would just think of it as having the rest of my life to experiment with color. :)
