I am a little embarassed to say that yes, I Google myself every once in awhile, just to see what I get. I'm pretty pleased with the results these days, as it paints a pretty accurate picture of who I am and what I do. I usually get returns about my work with CPT, programs of gigs I've played and sung, and- my piece de resistance (one of these days I'll figure out how to make accents)- some newspaper reports about my protest arrest a few years ago. Time like that remind me that I haven't had a dull life, no matter how it feels right now.

Yes, yes I have. I show up on about page 3 after the Jason Barr who is a professor of economics at Rutgers and the Jason Barr who is an inner city Baptist pastor in... Pittsburgh I think, I forget.

My blog comes up on the first page for "Christian Anarchist", though, or at least it used to.

Still praying for your mom, and lots of love.

Turns out there's another Carl Johnson who composes cheesey music for kids' cartoon movies! I e-mailed him, he responded. Very cool guy, actually.

That's one of the problems with my last name. There is no Emily Nee in Google, just Emily nee (maiden name).

It's actually a bit disconcerting, because with my new name I'm now the number one hit, and that hit is my "Dandelife" page--a full timeline of my ife history, where I've written (or plan to write) descriptions about every important event that's ever happened to me. So, now, when people google me they _really_ google me.

Dandelife allows you to mark certain entries as private, so that's good. Everything else is right there for everyone to see.

But there's a weirdness about the situation, because although I'd feel really awkward if I sent that link to someone else on purpose, I don't feel at all awkward if they find it on their own. They wanted to know about me, they get to know about me. If they didn't want all of the details about my parents' divorce or whatever, they don't have to look.

Mind you, I never for a moment contemplated writing anything on the web that I wouldn't want people to see, without marking it as private. If I shot a guy in Reno, just to blog about it, I'd do that from a clean account with no connection to myself.
