Oct. 30th, 2006 07:55 amMy iPod froze. What should I do? How serious is this?
**EDIT: Fuck all. Is it contagious? Or should I just not be allowed near technology?!? My phone- my BRAND NEW PHONE- also all of a sudden is not responding. It shows the time, the battery bar (which is full, I charged it last night) and the reception bars on the front of the phone, but when I open it up, it is blank. And when I press the buttons on the side to change the ring style, nothing happens.

Doesn't that planet ever move forward?

Date: 2006-10-30 06:34 pm (UTC)it's an optical illusion, mind you. astrology is about movement as it appears to a human looking up, not about how actual movement in the solar system.

Date: 2006-10-30 10:23 pm (UTC)And yes, iPod deprivation is devastating! I survived on that thing in Tuwani!

Date: 2006-10-30 11:42 pm (UTC)This is random, but your mention of Tuwani brought these two questions to mind. 1) Does CPT work only in the West Bank, or do they work in Gaza, too? 2) What was internet access like in the town(s) you worked in?

Date: 2006-10-31 12:22 am (UTC)2) You can find internet cafes in any urban center in Palestine. There is no internet access in Tuwani, as neither phone nor electricity lines run there at this time (the electricity they do get, about five hours a night, comes from a diesel generator). The CPT offices in Hebron and Yatta- the city closest to Tuwani, where we rent an apartment that serves as our Tuwani team office- both have internet access, although it is dial-up, and can be spotty. In Jerusalem, where many people spend their time off, one particular internet cafe that caters to CPT has GREAT internet access, including capabilities for things like Skype, and there are tons of other places around.
