So we're supposed to get our stipend checks from CPT round about the middle of every month (yes, I'm still getting my stipend check, luckily- which sounds generous until you think about how little I get paid per month to begin with- its sort of their version of disability, and I can't argue with that) but it is still not here. I am starting to sweat it a little. Due to the retreat last week, I'm sure they just put it off and it will be here in the next couple days, but till then I'm going to be very impatient. Especially since I'd really like to have ordered in something to eat tonight.

On Friday I received a phone call from the Rehab Institute telling me that I am scheduled to start the all-day program on October 16th. I am nervous but anticipatory. We will see how the next few weeks shape up in PT.

[livejournal.com profile] themiddlestates came over last night, and we scarred him for life by showing him I &hearts Huckabees. Which is one of my favorite films of all times, but I acknowledge it is very strange. Its nice to have a friend who lives across the street from you! We then invited him to come over any time, clarifying that any time didn't actually mean ANY time, but most times. For instance, 2 am on Tuesdays is out.

In further discussion last night with Larry about his experience yesterday, he told us that the conversation ended once they pressed him for the "path to heaven", and he told them that he wasn't pleased with their simplistic interpretation of scripture. I was even more amused by that.

The Church Next Door (hereafter known as TCND) is hosting five Swedish young people- college and just post college- this week (the church is Swedish Lutheran). They asked if we were willing to be a homestay, and we said we could take one person. Our guest is a young man named Emil (pronounced Ah-mil) who is somewhere post college, probably 23 or 24-ish. Although the only time I have spent with him so far was yesterday morning, he seems really cool. Benjamin and Katya took him along to a party given by one of Katya's fellow grad students last night, and reportedly he had a great time. I don't feel as if I really have a whole lot to give as a hostess right now, but thankfully there are four other people in the house, so its not like I have to be "on" all the time. Also, there is an itinerary, and they're being mostly shown around by the pastor and other people at the church. Should be a fun week.

Thank you :-) I'm optimistic about the new program. Someday life will be back to normal. Well, normal for me, anyway.
