I suggest you forward that email to the spam/abuse center of your email provider. It sounds like a scam to me.

I did. It was from Amazon's instructions that I figured out how to find the "headers", which told me where the spoof email had been generated. I learned from some geek friends of mine that emails can be easily changed to look like it comes from somewhere else, but also that if you hover your mouse across a link, and it shows a different address than the link does, that the link is also faked. Besides, I don't have an Amazon account! I found that part the funniest.

Remind me some day and I will show you how to spoof a URL. Harder than email but you can mask it in such a way that it would be very difficult to tell that you aren't actually on a site like amazon.com.
