Why do I keep getting labeled as an extrovert? Don't people understand how introverted I am? No, really, I am! Dammit.

I really need a Meme Sheepage icon.

i like that test; it's an actual scientific one, for once.

i also like my meme sheep icon. and have seen a fun one that features lemmings racing off a cliff, each one exclaiming 'me!'

but if you have a design idea for one you want, i will try to make it for you.

So the scientists think I'm an extrovert, eh? Just because I like people, I'm branded as an extrovert for life. Cheesopeets.

I don't currently have any ideas for icons. I'm terrible at icons, and my brain isn't working well enough to have any creative ideas right now anyway :-)

Actually, there's an alternate Myers-Briggs classification for extroverted introverts - "X." I qualify as an "XNFP," because I'm 50-50 intro/extro. I like people too but if I don't get my alone time I start to go completely insane. I bet you're the same way.

Yes. Plus the fact that probably 90% of my life is lived inside my head. For everything you see going on outside of me, there is approximately 80,000 other things going on inside me. I'm pretty chatty on LJ, but even these posts don't begin to cover what's running through my head at the time. I also don't like being made vulnerable to other people, so I keep my mouth shut on vastly, vastly personal issues more often than not. I guess that's why I self-identify as an introvert. What people seem to be calling "extroversion" in me is actually a well-honed defense mechanism I created a long time ago that has become very automatic.

Make any sense?

Yes! Because I'm exactly the same way! I deflect so people think I'm really open, but I'm actually just presenting different facets all the time. Only one or two people really know me and that comes from a defense mechanism on my part as well -- I distract, and I can be very distractable myself when I am stressed. Cool!!

You know, it occured to me that for a couple of introverts, you and I picked the damn wrong career paths....

Hahahahaha! Well, one of the reasons I really, really like radio is because you're alone, behind your mic, talking to people who really have no idea who you are or what you look like. I was out covering a story with a TV colleague the other day, and these guys were going nuts because they recognized her. For about a minute, I was jealous, because she was getting all the attention, but then I thought wait a minute, that's exactly the way I want it. I don't want dumbasses talking to me while I'm getting ready to do a live shot.

So in a way, I think that you and I have perfect careers, in that we can help people, or in my case inform, and still maintain a distance of sorts.

(Or maybe we are just completely misguided... hahahahaha)
