CPT experienced a momentary PTSD flashback this morning with the report of a Christian Science Monitor reporter being kidnapped in Iraq.

Circumstances are eerily the same as ours, as well as the woman who was taken a few days after our people (who was eventually released, although the contractor taken around the same time was reportedly killed).

We can't help but think of what her co-workers, friends and family are going through right now. Must be similar to our first week. Or four.

Bleh.

We intend to send a note of support and solidarity.

In the meantime, we wait. Still no word.

Wish I had an appropriate icon for things like this.

Makes ya wish you knew Superman personally so you could get him to head down there and take care of business...

Wish there were no need for such icons. :(

Bleh, indeed. Don't know about prayers, but such spiritual solidarity as a quasi-agnostic, pagan-sympathetic, mostly-UU can provide is on hand here in Oklahoma. Hang in there.

Thanks :-) Perhaps oddly (or perhaps not), that actually seems to describe quite a few people I work with here in these radical Christian parts ;-)
