So the letter do Dr. Laura has been widely circulated over the last few years. Most of you are probably familar with it by now.

What I'm curious about is if Dr. Laura ever made a public reaction or rebuttal to this. Does anyone know?

I don't know, but that's really funny.

According to Snopes.com (http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/drlaura.asp), she ran a full-page ad in "Variety" in early October 2000 "offering an apology for what she called 'poorly chosen' words about homosexuality." Unfortunately, the Snopes article doesn't include the actual text of the ad.

It's worth reading the whole page to learn more about "Dr." Laura and the history of the anonymous letter (and its various derivative forms).

They did and episode of West Wing where President Sheen chews out a barely masked Dr. Laura-esque character at a White House function pretty much verbatim with that letter. Very good episode, if nothing else. I have no idea about the actual letter...

Oh, I've seen/heard snippets of that! I thought it was hilarious. Once, I was in the car and my true love Lyn Bremer played it on the radio. I almost had to pull over I was laughing so hard. I wanted to cheer.

It's spelled: Lin Brehmer

If you're going to lust after him (as i do), at least spell his name right.

Heh.

I think I spell it differently every time.

Actually, I used to spell it Lin, but someone once told me I was wrong. In as much as you lust after him, I'll certainly trust your judgement.

That's how they spell it on the WXRT website.
