When I was a kid, I wanted a bunny.

My parents wouldn't let me have a bunny. They said bunnies smell too much.

So we got a guinea pig instead.

Then I lobbied for a pygmy goat. I figured, if it was going to stink, at least it should be smart.

We got another guinea pig*.

In college, [livejournal.com profile] dl76 and I had an illegal bunny for awhile. It didn't think it particularly smelled. I liked it.

Between this, and this, my old yens have been awakened.

If I can't have a bunny, maybe this time I'll get the goat.

*I shouldn't bad-mouth guinea pigs. They are sweet, amusing creatures in and of themselves, and make fine pets for children. They're just not bunnies.

If your bunny is smelling too much, you merely have to hold its nose for a moment...

Someone on my friendslist feels the same way you do about bunnies... She posted about this shelter.

Good heavens that's a big bunny.

We had a rabbit in a hutch in the backyard when I was a kid. After I moved out, it died because my dad forgot to give it water. He felt real bad about that. :(

I wanted a pot bellied pig, but when that was rejected asked for a llama. Same logic, I suppose. ;-)

Both are noble creatures in my eyes.

By the way, I hope I didn't freak you out when you called the office the other day :-) It was weird, though, wasn't it- you were totally out of context for me! :-) "Wait, wait... Joy... .she's supposed to be on LJ, not on the other end of my work telephone!"

oh no, you didn't freak me out, but yes I was sitting on the phone thinking "wait, Amy has a voice? Really? She's more than text on a screen. Whoa......"

Just think, someday we'll meet each other and really go crazy.

They wouldn't let you have a bunny, but they let you have a guinea pig? Like those smell like roses?
