Please mark your calendar and join us at WSFPC's 3rd Annual Gathering, Saturday, Feb. 25th, from 10am-3pm at First United Methodist Church in Downers Grove. Please print out this flyer to post in your church and local community.

The program, titled "We CAN Make a Difference" will look at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, featuring keynote talks by Yigal Bronner, an Israeli soldier who refused to serve in the Occupied Territories, and Ali Abunimah a writer and commentator on the Middle East and Arab-American affairs. There will also be a panel discussion including key Chicago-area leaders in the work for Peace & Justice in the Middle East.

The Feb. 25th program will:

* Present speakers giving eye-witness accounts of Israel's Separation Wall, and the Settlements in the Occupied Territories
* Highlight the important work of Israeli, Palestinian and American peacemakers working jointly to end the violence in the region.
* Identify actions we can all take to be in solidarity with those suffering and empower those struggling for a just peace in the Middle East
* Provide an opportunity to meet with other west suburban peacemakers working in this area.

It means I think we should, as a country, mind our own damn business and let other countries mind theirs. That's the Isolationist part. If another country sticks it's nose far enough into our business that we feel the need to send our military onto their soil, we should end said conflict OWNING the country we invaded. That's the Imperialistic part. It's basically the same attitude as "Speak softly, and carry a BIG stick" combined with "Don't point a gun at someone you aren't prepared to kill."
