Oh, I love opening mail from crazy people!

As might not surprise you, we get a few of those here at the office....

Today's offering: An essay sent in an envelope with no return address, but postmarked Youngstown, OH, entitled "All Terrorists Are Muslim". Enclosed was a scrap of paper with a handwritten note reading "Dear CPT- I thought you may be INTERESTED in these papers- read and pass on. A Friend." It includes statements such as "What you can do- Learn to Hate", and other things so awful that I will not repost here.

*headdesk*

**EDIT: On the upside, at least it didn't tick....**

not entirely outside the realm of possibility... I now live in a bad John LeCarre novel.

Better than being in Twin Peaks.

Actually.... I've never seen Twin Peaks.... I actually can't get the reference.

It's a strange place. Kyle Maclachlan's an FBI agent, there are dwarves and one-armed men, people disappear and/or die, and the owls are not what they seem. OTOH, the pie and coffee are as good as it gets.

In Le Carre novels, it's your basic Cold War spy scenario. Much less surreal.

And if you're ever in the Seattle area, I can take you to Twedes, where you can get a piece of cherry pie and some damn good coffee. :)

Those of us who lived in the state of Oklahoma in 1995 respectfully disagree.

Honestly, 5 1/2 years ago. Will have to speak to the postmaster about their poor delivery time...

Do you have some sort of screening process for your mail? I honestly never thought of it, but that could be very dangerous...

Hmmmm. I hope they budget you some rubber gloves and a stethescope to protect from Anthrax and listen for ticking...

Actually, I'm not all that worried about the mail, especially the former. I really think if someone wanted to harm us they'd track us down. We don't publish our physical address, for many reasons including that.

My patrons seem normal by comparison.

I think that icon is hilarious (in a morbid kind of way, of course)!
