A challenge of my non-violent beliefs
Jan. 23rd, 2006 04:35 pmIn conversation with mom this past weekend, we somehow touched on the topic of college and grades- I don't remember how or why.
And she said to me, rather nonchalantly, "You were so hard on yourself about grades (at which point I almost killed her), but I guess I shouldn't have let you think straight As were the only acceptable thing. I didn't get straight As in school, ever, so I guess I shouldn't led you to believe I had".
Whoa. Talk about rewriting history.
To borrow a phrase, I considered this a *headdesk* moment.

Date: 2006-01-23 10:54 pm (UTC)I saw her undergrad grades and she got a "C" in a language (Hebrew, Greek, maybe?) and a "D" in organ, which she pulled back up to a "B" by the next semester.
The rest were all "A"s and "B"s. So, sure... not all "A"s.
you gotta be kidding me!?!?!
