but I find myself lacking both the energy and the ingenuity.

So here we are, in Stroudsberg, PA, in a hotel with free wireless internet access. Woohoo for free Wifi!

We haven't killed each other, despite some occasional strong urges to do so. Damn, this woman can talk! Mostly when I'm trying to listen to music in the car.

Last night we stayed in a KOA campground, in a little "Kamping Kabin". Not bad, except for trudging up the road in the middle of the night to pee.

Tonight, obviously, we're in much better accomadations.

The weather has been moderately crappy, and we drove through some pretty nasty storms yesterday. There are predictions on the weather channel of more nasty weather. I hope her plane isn't going to be delayed. Not much I can do about it if it is, though, because I'm pretty much dropping her off at the airport and running.

I'm not looking forward to driving out of NYC by myself on a Friday afternoon, but I'm starting to really look forward to time alone in the car- with my iPod- and time by myself at a hotel tomorrow night. Now, that will really feel like a vacation.

I hope to be home late Saturday night, but if I get back to Northern Indiana and I'm too tired to make it the next three hours home, I'll probably stay at my mom's house that night.

This dry, vapid, utilitarian-only update has been brought to you by.... well, I suppose by Wireless Internet, eh?

We drove through those storms yesterday too when we were going through Michigan on our way home from Ontario. Damn, that was some rain! Could not see enough to even pull over to the side at some points - had to just keep going ahead hoping to get past it, but we must have been going with the storm or something, because we had to go through it three times!

Drive safe, have fun, don't kill your mother yet :)

We went through it three times, too. Tonight on the Weather Channel trying to keep entertained in a hotel room in the middle of the Poconos) it told us it was the tail top of the hurricaine, which was our suspicion to begin with. Here's crossing fingers that's done, because I don't want to drive through that on the way home, too!

Sorry, the cat jumped on the keyboard as I was posting the above and somehow made it post twice.

Yay for you & your Mom's avoiding Mutual Assured Destruction! And there are advantages to road trips on your own: For one thing, you can stop whenever YOU want to--peeing, weird roadside attraction, or just because you can.

Bon rest-of-the-voyage.

I love road trips, and I haven't done one alone since I was driving back and forth from MN for college. I'm planning on taking tons of pictures and then subjecting you all to them :-)

I am quite familiar with the hotels of Stoudsburg, PA. Perhaps you stayed near the Water Gap? You slept in the shadows of the Lenape.

Not too close to the Water Gap, but kinda. Literally just off I-80. What is the Lenape?
