Nov. 16th, 2002 12:16 amI just got home from seeing Bowling for Columbine. I'm really glad I had the time at Border's and Houlihan's to unwind. It was an absolutly stunning piece of work. I had no idea it would hit me so hard. Michael Moore uses some very VERY strong footage to get his point across. I cried through a lot of the film. After the movie I got in my car and turned on the radio. It was on 97.1, where I'd left it when I got out of the car, and for some really strange reason, the DJ had decided to play Cat Steven's singing "Morning has Broken". For a totally unfathomable reason that really put me over the edge. It must be the juxtaposition. But at any rate, the result was that I bawled all the way from Cantera to Border's in Danada. I'm sure my eyes were still red when I walked in. I bet everybody there thought I was on something.
(May I take this time to mention how many amazingly HOT angst-ridden/artistic-type guys work at Borders?!??)
Anyhoo.... I strongly recommend this movie. It's pretty powerful. I was surprised to see how packed the theater was. I wouldn't have expected it out here, the bastion of right-wing-ed-ness. Somehow it made me feel not so alone.
But now I go to sleep.
Oh yeah- Tom called me on my cell phone the second I walked in the door and we chatted for a few minutes. YAY!
Ok, now I really go to sleep.
*poof*
