violachicWow. I feel like such a good citizen these days! I am certainly fufilling my rights as an American- all this political dissent, and now I have voted. Whew! Its enough to get a girl all worked up.
I almost didn't get a chance to vote. I got to the voting station, and I wasn't in their little book. But after a little pestering, they looked me up on what is apparently called a "fail safe" list. They drilled me on where I really live (much to my father's chagrin, I still live in the same place...), whether I've ever moved, where and when I was away at school, etc... then we had to fill out a bunch of paperwork. I still can't imagine why I was on that list, except that I didn't vote last year, but a gap like that shouldn't do it, they said. I voted in 2000, which was well after I came home from school. Hmmmm.... I smell conspiracy.... I blame the Illuminati.
So, yes ma'am, I did indeed vote STRAIGHT TICKET! I am so incredibly pleased with myself. As presumed, there were no Green or Independent candidates on the list. Unfortunatly, there were at least four or five minor offices where there was only one candidate running, and they were always the OTHER guy. One had only Republican and Libertarian candidates, and as my head would have imploded to try to locate the lesser of the two evils, I simply abstained from that particular ballot.
I don't really care who y'all vote for, just get off your collective asses and do it
Now that I have voted, it gives me the implicit right to do as much bitching and moaning as I want about the impending state of the union. WOOHOO!
