violachicHi. Yes, yes, I know some of you have already seen this. My email address list and my LJ friends list are not mutually exclusive, so hence the need for double posting.
Hi there! I hope you have all marked off this Saturday, October 26th on your calender! We are getting together for two reasons:
1)It is about time we did this scavenger hunt thingy again, or something equally as exciting, and
2)We must celebrate the birthdays of Marta, Greg and Garrett, who all have turned a year older (or in Marta's case, three years older) this week.
So you must be asking yourself a)what's in it for me, 2)what do I have to do, and lastly)what will it cost me?
The answers to that are (and are not limited to) as follows:
a)A really good time with people you think are really cool
Get to know new people
Experience something a little different than your usual weekend fare
Scare the living piss out of innocent passersby
2)Show up at Ben and Sunday's place in the city somewhere around 5:00 (4:00 for Poptart) Saturday evening (let me know if you need directions or a ride and I will try to help you out).
Leave the rest to us
Plan to be back at Ben and Sunday's by around midnight or 1 or so with your team to compare hunt results, eat cake, and if you haven't already, drink(exact time of return will be determined before teams are free to go).
lastly)Only as much as you want it to
Any transportation costs you and your team incur (i.e. parking, el or bus fare)
Any bribe needed to obtain hard-to-find items on your list
(we will not be doing this as a photo hunt this time, due to high overhead)
MISC: Please invite friends and/or SOs! Teams will not be decided for certain until everyone participating has arrived. An effort will be made to mix company on teams so as to make the experience as positive for everyone as it can be. We are using Ben and Sunday's place as home base because it is easy access to many options, as well as free to park. Once we are ready to go, your team is free to undertake your mission however you'd like, whether it is hanging around the neighborhood, taking the el downtown, or heading back into the suburbs with your car.
Bring: ID, some money, watch (at least 1 per team), cell phone if you have one (at least 1 needed per team).
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. If you know for sure now whether or not you will attend, please RSVP so we can get a ballpark idea of head count.
