(no subject)
Oct. 14th, 2002 05:21 pmI have ceased to feel so benevolent and non-stressed about the lack of brakes on the Cavalier. Midas told me that my car wouldn't even be seen today if I brought it in, which I guess is good because I haven't figured out a way to get it there without towing it yet. Hopefully tonight someone can take me over really late when there's few people on the road and I can sort of limp to the shop.
But what is really frustrating is that I found out that my rehearsal tonight and Sunday's concert at Harper ARE being cancelled due to the strike. This is after the college and the conductor both reassured us it would NOT be cancelled, since 1) the orchestra is comprised of either non-credit students or "ringers" like me and 2) it is led by a non-union, part-time faculty member. I'm sure I'll still get paid for the 2 rehearsals I already attended (I BETTER get paid for the 2 rehearsals I've already attended), but there goes over half my paycheck. Which I really could have used to pay for my brakes.
I know I am not the only one suffering due to this.
magickone has also had to endure cancelled classes due to the strike.
grrrrrrrr.....
Ok. Bye.
