Old Mission, MI: Part 1

Cast: Roz, Shane, Kael, Libby, Amy (me) and Libby's mom (Mum).
Setting: Old Mission, MI- cottage community at Old Mission Bay, northern part of state.
Plot:A little of everything and a whole lot of nothing.


FRIDAY:
Left Wheaton at 9:15 a.m.
Met Kael at O'Hare (in from D.C.) at 10:30.
Waited for Roz and Shane to arrive; they got there at 11:45.
Drove to MI.
Stopped every two hours to pee and stretch legs. Five people in one Chevy Malibu.
Bought Baby Bottle Pops and ate sugar in car.
Arrived at Old Mission around 9:30 p.m. MI time.
Mum fed us sammitches.
I start videotaping.
Swam in the bay.
Went to bed.

SATURDAY:
Woke up around 11.
Swam.
I kayaked with Kael. Fell out twice. I didn't drown.
Searched for a place to pick peaches- proved elusive.
Tasted wine.
Bought wine.
Admired startling blue eyes of gentleman at wine tasting facility.
Swam.
Ate bitchin' dinner made by Mum. Stuffed zucchini. Yummmm.
Made campfire. Ate s'mores. Drank beer.
Kael poured beer on my head.
Went to bed fully satiated.

SUNDAY:
Went to church with Mum. United Church of Christ. Libby and I gave a rousing rendition of "Siyahumba" for the congregation.
Ate Mum cookies. Yummmmmm.
Swam.
Swam.
Swam.
Fell asleep on the beach.
Swam.
Ate vegetarian lasagne.
Drank wine.
Went to bed.

Got up from bed- couldn't sleep.
Libby drank beer.
Went back to bed.
Got back up.
Kael stayed in bed while Libby, Roz, Shane and I went crazy, drank beer and talked about ghosts.
Got 2 1/2 hrs of sleep...

MONDAY:
Woke up at 4 a.m. MI time (3, Chicago time) in order to leave by 5.
Went skinny-dipping at 4 in the morning to wash hair.
Drove to IL.
Put Kael on airplane to DC and Roz and Shane on the Blue Line.
Libby and I went to Wheaton. Showered. Napped.
Drove to Navy Pier.
Chilled with buddies.
Drove home.
Updated livejournal.
Went to sleep happy.
