Aug. 30th, 2002 01:58 am-"So, Amy, how was the show tonight?"
-"Oh, it was great, just great! The music was fantastic, the costumes were beautiful, and the set....wow, I've never seen anything like it before!"
yeah, right....
So Libby gets here at like, 4:00 p.m. I'm just hopping in the shower (don't ask....no comments....), and we agree to try to leave somewhere between 5:15 and 5:30. The show is at 7:30, we're taking the El instead of driving, and we want to stop for a bite to eat. Great! Lovely! Can't wait!
So what actually happens, you ask?
We go to dinner at Anyways. Neither of us are really too worried about looking at the clock. Get to the El depot, grab a train. On the train, we realize that we're running a lot later than we wanted to, and that we're going to be squeaking very tightly timewise. Libby apologizes to me because she thinks I'm really looking forward to going. I tell her its ok. We realize that the other person was trying to be excited so we wouldn't disappoint the other.
We decide to ditch the show.
Instead, we try to do something interesting. I remember this place I went to with Meghan at the beginning of the summer, Low Sodium Entertainment. It was in this little coffee shop sandwiched right between the Red Line and Wrigley Field. But its not there anymore. Hmmm....
Went to the Taco Bell at Addison and Clark, drank caffeine, read the Chicago Reader, and tracked down Roz and Shane. The reader informs us that Low Sodium Entertainment has changed their name to Last Laughs Wrigleyville, but is reportedly still running out of the same coffeehouse. Hmmm.....
Ok, I'm wrapping it up. We meet Roz and her boyfriend Shane, go to Leona's for drinks and tiramisu, then headed home. Now I'm doing laundry, and tomorrow Libby and I are going to Michigan to see her mum and stay in the cabin. Roz, Shane, Kael and hopefully Jessica will be joining us. Yay!
Oh, there is a really good chance that we will be back in the area by Monday afternoon. Kael has to fly out of O'Hare on a 2:00 flight, and if Jess isn't going to MI, which is a really good chance cuz her car died, we will all come back together.
