(no subject)
Dec. 19th, 2003 11:06 pmMy apologies to all those who tried to get me to be social tonight. I was in hot demand tonight, too! But I just put the last batch of cookies in the oven, and I haven't even cleaned the kitchen yet.
Other reasons why I could not have gone out tonight (because I like playing with the rich-text mode):
- I still have not received any gig checks in the mail from the last two weeks (moderately to fairly irritating)
- My dad is fostering a dog over his holiday break (he works at a school) from the no-kill animal shelter where he volunteers. I went with him to the shelter to introduce Boomer The Sometimes-I-Wonder-About-You Dog to her and bring her home. She's a year-old full bred Australian Cattle Dog, and she's gorgeous. I will bet my highly prized, recently excavated musical-instrument cookie cutters that if she works out well over the next two weeks, he will keep her.
- I still have not finished the stuff I want to make for my niece for Christmas. I am making her seed bead necklaces and a hair scrunchie or two.
- I just found out that there is a Royal Command Performance brunch at my mother's tomorrow morning with some people from church. Since I haven't exactly been a regular at church lately (hey, who can get up at eight-thirty on a Sunday morning, voluntarily??) and I do enjoy seeing them, I am going. This means anything I was planning on taking care of tomorrow morning now needs to be taken care of tonight.
- If I had the money, the time, and the opportunity, I really wanted to go to the Do-It-Yourself Messiah at the Lyric Opera House tonight. I have to play it all the time, I've never had a chance to sing it, and I really, REALLY miss singing.
But I'm sorry to have missed your company tonight, and I hope you can all join me at Lincoln Park Zoo on Sunday night for the Zoo Lights!
