I came to a really serious revelation over the last few weeks, as I play the inevitable holiday concerts.





I really, really hate playing waltzes.


I mean, if there are offbeats to be had, violas always get them. Sometimes violists are called offbeats. Sometimes they're called "deadbeats", but who's counting (not the violas, that's for sure)?



Except I'd much rather be the "...pah...pah" of "OOM pah OOM pah" than the "...chuck chuck" of "BOOM chuck chuck".


Just thought I'd share.

:) But you have someone here who appreciates your efforts. I know it may be difficult to play, but there's nothing I love to dance more than a waltz. Somehow, nothing's quite as elegant as those three-count steps.

Well, for the violas, waltzes aren't difficult, just boring- because we never get the melody :-) But yeah, actually, one of the only dances I could once do was the waltz, and it was fun.
