I have a balloon.
A yellow balloon.
With a yellow ribbon. The kind you can curl with a pair of scissors.
It makes me happy.
Its tied to the knob on the bannister at the bottom of the stairs.
It makes the room look happy.
We had a birthday party after church today for a woman who turned 80. Should I make it to 80! Should I make it to 80 and look that good! She and her husband have been married for something like 55 years. Wow. I am in awe.
On Sunday, September 8th, we will be hosting a fascinating speaker. Nathan Musselman will be there to speak about his experiences in the Middle East, and his time spent in an Israeli prison. It will be utterly compelling. Anyone who is interested in hearing him speak is welcome to come by. Church is at 9:30. For those of you uncomfortable attending church but would like to hear him speak, it should start around 11. In fact, if my new Mennonite buddy and his lovely wife would like to join us, I'm sure we can find you a very comfy place to stay Saturday night. That is a 100% serious offer. I mean, the dood did go to a Mennonite college, after all. ;-)

Ok, a curiosity piece- my horrorscope for today:
TAURUS (Apr 20–May 20): Your sigh is a breath of relief as you settle into the new posture you’d like to take in your life. Something has changed. It’s not the same as it was, and it doesn’t feel bad. It’s not like you have to change. It happened easily and effortlessly. You may even be looking forward to putting your new style into action.
Wow. Could it be any more accurate?
Fate?
Coincidence?
Divine intervention?
All of the above?
I need a nap.
I'll tell you about Beth's wildly successful blind date later.
(don'tcha love a good cliffhanger?)
