I remember Dec. 8 , 1980 well. What strikes me is that John was only 40 years old and had accomplished so much.

There are some things that are so hard to make sense of. But in his own way, he had a flare for drama...for making the world notice. Perhaps we plan the way we come into this world and the way we go out of it.

I had lived through the deaths of JFK, RFK, and MLK jr. Lennon's death was like the spear in the side perhaps. Many times I have tried to write poem about Dec. 8 1980. Many times i have failed.

I wanted to write something more profound in this space, myself. But maybe there just aren't any more words. All of those men were so extraordinary, and they were preaching such powerful messages.
