We have a bird. Now we need a name.

He's about nine weeks old, and is an absolutely gorgeous yellow and gray cockatiel. I'm not sure if he is going to drive me batty whilst I try to sleep or not. I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. I will admit that he's a very good-looking birdie.

Sometimes I think my dad is off his rocker.

I used to have a cockatiel named Sam. One of my step-sisters has one named Beaker.

Those sound like god cockatiel names. My dad wants to name it Petey or Tuffy. The former I could live with, the latter I so could not. Not like I'm going to be here much longer, but.... y'know.... (I object to "Tuffy" for the same reason my parents wouldn't let us name our lab mix "Socks" when I was eight)

No name agreed upon as yet. Yes, last night was supposed to be girl's night, but I got caught in the city, due to circumstances beyond my control (see impending post for details). Thank you, I also am glad I'm not leaving 'till January :)

WTF? Dad doesn't keep the house warm enough for a cockatiel.

I hope it's only temporary or you'll have one sick bird.

ummmm

I'm starting to think I've underestimated the bird as a pet. He's only been here for about twenty four hours, but I'm already kinda attached :) I'll check out the website, thanks.

For a while, I was trying to name all my pets after dictators. My last cockatiel (that flew away) was Fidel Castro, which was actually a pretty good name. I have a black goldfish named Momar (after Momar Quadafi). I also had a Max, named after Russel Crow's character.

My current feathered friend is named Pele, after the soccer player. He was going to be named Marshall after the leader of Vichy France, but I broke with tradition. Yesterday, when he was all puffed up, I thought Muffin might be appropriate.
