It was really nice to go over and see [livejournal.com profile] wildrose80 and [livejournal.com profile] the_seventh's new place the other night. Brooke fed us the yummiest frozen pizza I've ever had! Plus, I got to see [livejournal.com profile] dust_wind_dude, who I have hardly seen in the last month or so. I like what you've done to the hair, man. Very sleek. Also got to see [livejournal.com profile] bethypooh95 for a bit. The cuteness quotient was through the ceiling, what with the most wonderful four-year-old in the world and two brand new baby kitties in the house! Oh yeah- and Brooke is going to teach me how to crochet. Yippee!

I think I have finally hit on the perfect pancake. Hungry Jack is the way to go. The best pancakes I've ever eaten, with the possible exception of Tom's Restaurant in NYC (Walt told me they were the best pancakes in the world, and they indeed were).

We're apparently getting a bird. Go figure.

I have two students who are auditioning for their local Illinois Music Educators Association district orchestras. We've been working the music nonstop since about May. It tends to get lodged in my ears. I have had the viola part to "Locust Street Rag" running through my head for two days now. The audition date (next Wednesday) can't come up fast enough. At least it beats Gavotte from Mignion and Bach's Bouree, and Seitz Concerto No. 3, movement I..... which are usually stuck in my head. But it is driving me decidedly batty.

What kind of bird? I'm not a big fan of birds. They wake me up when I'm trying to sleep.

I don't comment much but I'm glad to hear your teaching stuff is going well.

A cockatiel, I guess. My dad is getting it from a friend. I'm not a huge fan of birds, either, but my name isn't on the deed to the house, so I don't have a LOT of say.

Thanks for the encouragement. It means a lot. Hope to see you soon.

I lived with a cockatiel. Bleh. Nice animals, but I'd take a mammal anyday over an intelligent bird.

I found birds to be incompatible with my sleeping habits which were less strange then than they are now.

My rat, Liahdian, says "Hi!" or squeak, depending on your viewpoint.

You would have a rat....... I prefer my mammals fuzzy and larger than a guinea pig. But I hear rats make nice pets.

I guess it could be worse. I've had "We love you, Conrad" from "Bye Bye Birdie" in my head for days now. (So happy to share it by name with my friends!)
