Some time in the last couple weeks, I saw that someone on my friends list had mentioned how LJ was responsible for pretty much his whole social life. He didn't seem to think that was a bad thing, just was kind of amused by it. But I think LJ is actually quite a tool for socializing. I most definitely feel much better about getting together with people from LJ than I do with, say, some random person off of AIM or some chat room. I like the way you kind of get to know something about the people you will see before you see them. And I've most certainly made friends in the last year due (directly and indirectly) with LJ. And that makes me happy. May I continue to make more!
Even though the event is probably years and years off in the future, I think I've come up with a name for my first daughter. While I'm not a particularly domestic person (I hate cooking and cleaning and sewing, and anything else that would make a "proper" wife and mother) I've always looked forwards to having kids. For names of said as-yet-unborn children, I've always kind of wanted to lean towards the slightly less traditional, but not the kind of name that will get a kid made fun of in Kindergarten. But over the weekend, I realized what a great name would be for a daughter: Felicity Elisabeth. After my two closest female friends, and my sister. Felicity and Libby (Elizabeth) are two of my closest friends, and if I spell it Elisabeth instead of with a Z it will be family fare- it is my Nana's name, and my sister's middle name. This does not mean that just because I don't name a child after you that I don't love you :)
I've been updating a LOT lately. I know this must bug some people. But I just happen to have a lot to say these days :) Thanks for your patience.
