She introduced me to much of what has become very important to me. This may sound cliched, but I have a great deal of respect for the likes of Martin Luther King Jr, and Mohatma Ghandi, and their stellar examples of how to live a truly nonviolent life. As for fictional, I've always thought Aslan the lion was pretty cool, well before I was aware of any kind of religious symbolism.
2)If you could re-live your childhood on your terms, what would you do differently? What would you NOT change? My life age ten and before was pretty much perfect. I wouldn't change a thing about that. Even though I bitch about not having watched TV and stuff as a kid, I was perfectly happy being the little water baby I was, and fiddling away oblivously. I would change, however, not necessarily the fact that we moved to Wheaton, but how it was handled. I hated moving there, but I think I would have been happier if my parents had handled my reaction to it better.
3)Is there any one song in particular you enjoy at the moment? Is it and upbeat tune or more ballad? Please post lyrics if applicable. The song "East of Anywhere", by a relatively obscure artist named Lamya strikes a big chord in me these days. Its somewhere between upbeat and ballad, and the lyrics speak to my ever-increasing urge to be anywhere but here.
Feelin' lost-in familiar places
Havin' fallin'-from-a few good graces
So many sandy years, dusted and wasted.
How from 'there' did I get 'here'?
I wanna be east of anywhere
Take me out of the 'everywhere'
Into the 'here'
Sublime to ride, reside, up high
In wide open big sky country
Sweet space to satisfy me.
Alone on the frontline of life
With no foundation
Return to my train of thought
But I miss the station
Wake up every morning, heading for yesterday
how do I make all my troubles go far away?
I wanna be east of anywhere
Take me out of the 'everywhere'
And into the 'here'
Sublime to ride, reside, up high
In wide open big sky country
It was easier for me to see
Without looking too far
But the more that it changes, the more it stays the same
Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose
And so it goes, nobody knows why we're here
I wanna go east of anywhere
take me out of the 'everywhere'
And into the 'here'
East of anywhere
Take me out of the 'everywhere'
Into the 'here'
Sublime to ride, reside, up high
In wide open big sky country
Sweet space to elevate me
Sweet space to satisfy me
Free space to be when I become
Sweet fate only knows when
I will be done
Into the here
Into the here
I wanna go east........
4)If you were to spend the rest of your life in one place starting now, where would you want to live? Would it be tropical, urban, rural, other?URBAN, baby, urban! I am a city mouse to the core. This is not to say that I don't enjoy being in other kids of places. But I don't think I'd be very happy living too long too far away from the city. As much as I have the urge to get the hell outta Dodge, I am really attached to the city of Chicago. If I move away for a bit, I'm sure I'll be back.
5)Suppose a plane did land on the American/Canadian border, where would YOU bury the survivors?Uhhh... my gut reaction is "up your ass", but something tells me that's a little on the crass side.
The Rules:
1 -- Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 -- I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3 -- You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 -- You'll include this explanation.
5 -- You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.
Thank you. Thankyouverymuch.
