Jul. 6th, 2003 11:31 pmTonight I fired up my old mac to clean up the hard drive 'n stuff so I could donate it to a rummage sale. I haven't touched that thing in over two years. I originally quit using it because it became so obsolete, and my dad had gotten a new computer anyway, and blah blah blah. It was weird going through it. The weirdest thing was that I came across an IM I had saved from almost four years ago. A conversation I had with my then-boyfriend. You know, The Old Guy. 'Twas really really weird. I had flashbacks, and not all of them were good. I immediately recalled the exact conversation, and the things that revolved around it. It was in the times when I was wading the net with AOL 2.7 and my 2400 BPS modem. Yeah, so....... it hurt to read it, cos it was full of all these like "you are sexy" and "i love you" and "you're an amazing woman" etc etc etc.... that obviously changed by the end of the relationship. It felt really good to send that puppy to the trash bin.
I think the biggest downer of not having a mac is that I can't play Lemmings anymore. I'm eternally grateful to Libby for sending me the disks to load it onto Bela, and I will miss it muchly.
Oh, I love my laptop with all my heart. But a small piece of me will always wish I had a mac.
