violachicSo, after spending years desperately trying to convince other White people that it is okay to clap on 2 and 4, I spent my New Year's Eve with... The Polkaholics. I spent the first hour retraining myself to clap on 1 and 3.
Sunday and I toasted with each other on three counts:
1) One more year I'm still alive
2) One more year he's still alive
3) One more year that neither of us have killed the other one
It was a lot of fun. Apparently they play at the Dank-Haus every year. I think next year I may try to convince my very German father and his "lady friend" to go.
In the meantime, best of wishes to all of you for 2009!
