There are so many flaws in that video it's hard to know where to begin. Think about these two, however. When you're issued the bracelet there's nothing stopping you leaving the terminal with it so you can take it away and learn its secrets at your leisure. Radio activated devices are vulnerable to jamming or false activation by hostile people - and given a sufficiently strong signal all from outside the security cordon whether that's the terminal or the airport perimeter.

The other misdirections, omissions and falsehoods and left as an exercise for the viewer.

Personally I'd think it'd be like the shopping carts. Take it too far and the EMD starts on low to remind you and builds up til incapacitation.

Either that or a deposit is placed on it. And if they can track you around the terminal, who says they won't be able to track you further.

Not much longer until you're tracked EVERYwhere using such technology if we open this can of worms.

That and the terrorists would just by the blueprints or come equipped with a jamming device.

I'll admit that I don't know enough to actually have an opinion about this concept. Clearly there are a number of logistical problems (as grahamwest points out, there is the hilarious image of a group of terrorists hijacking the bracelets, and incapacitating the rest of the passengers to ensure a smoother flight...) but what exactly are the theoretical problems?

It certainly gives me the willies... but so do a lot of things. Ah, well, here is a fabulous "slashup" of Kirk and Spock singing "Common People".

(BTW, if you believe that you can separate the artist's Statement from the work itself, I'd recommend doing so. I think the photos are brilliant, but they do not make a very good art piece about "globalization"... In fact, although I love a lot of these shots, the artist seems to be a bit of a dick...)
