Mar. 19th, 2007 12:26 amDear Captain Janeway, The Doctor, Tuvok, Neelix, Kes, Harry, Tom, B'elanna, Seven, and- most of all- Chakotay,
Thank you for being such constant companions the last four and a half months. I've had one hell of a year, and I can't imagine I'd have stayed nearly as sane as I have without your assistance; I certainly don't think I'd have survived the winter intact. You've become iconic in our home, and I feel in many ways that you're now part of the family. I've come to the end of the seven seasons, finally, with mixed emotions. Luckily, I always know how to find you.
I know you will never read this (and yes, I am aware you are not real people), but if you were, I'm sure you'd be happy to know that I'm learning to deal with my medical difficulties, and am preparing to try having a life again. It is a daunting concept, but when I'm feeling down, I will just conjur up the memories of stretching out on the couch in the studio and becoming immersed for a little while in your stories, along with my housemates and friends. Words cannot properly convey the level of gratitude I have for your presence in my life. You're welcome back at any time.
With much love,
violachic

Date: 2007-03-19 07:03 pm (UTC)Matt Chandler says hello. Lisa and I ran into him at the peace march yesterday. I swear, I met half the people I know in Portland there yesterday. It was pretty crazy.

Date: 2007-03-19 09:35 pm (UTC)I agree that the writing on DS9 is stronger (from the little I've seen of it), but there's a certain amount of pathos you get from Voyager that you don't get from other Star Trek incarnations that really draws me in. Besides, once I got ensconced in watching it, I really had to see how things played out!
