Just letting the world know I'm still alive.
Turns out sitting up to check email and LJ takes a LOT of energy, and makes me hurt.
But I'm alive. Tired, but alive. I was up for a couple hours earlier when my mom came by, and then again tonight when
polyfrog brought me soup and watched a movie with me. Other than that, I've pretty much been sleeping.
There's still pretty constant pain, but it holds steady at a much lower rate than it was a couple days ago. There is no official diagnosis at this time, but its probably either shingles, but the distinctive rash hasn't shown itself; or, due to the fact that there is a rash that was declared to be viral by the dermatologist, it probably is another viral infection that manifested itself with the pain first, and then a rash. Either way, its not the dire internal stuff they thought it could be on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In the meantime, I'm on narcotics for pain, and going to be doing a lot of sleeping and lounging.
Visitors are welcome, as long as its kept short (say, under an hour- 30 to 45 minutes is closer to what I can really take at a time), and you call first to make sure I'm up for it. I'm keeping my cell phone by my bed, but keeping it on silent when I know I don't want to be disturbed. I'll check my voice mail, but no guarantees I'll get back to you right away.
I'm so incredibly relieved that our friends in Iraq are free. I feel terrible that I wasn't available for the office during this time, but grateful that it was good news, and not more bad news. I don't, however, have a lot of energy to devote to discussing it all in detail at this time.
Its been a hell of a two weeks. This past week has been taken up 100% by being sick, and it was a doozy. I'll make a post of the week soon. Nothing I do is ever normal, including this.
Now, more drugs, and back to bed.
