Just a few pictures from my time overseas. More later. Its a real pain in the ass to upload pictures to Photobucket on dial-up!

All those who have ever lived and worked here!

Our one electricity source, where we charged our phones, cameras, laptops, etc, in the evening during our 4-6 of power- not exactly up to code!

On Eid Al-Fitr, the kids congregated at our house to play, and drew and colored all sorts of masterpieces, which tickled them to have displayed on our wall

Caves where the residents of Tuwani lived for hundreds of years, up until about 60--70 years ago. Many scholars believe Jesus was born in a cave much like this. Now used in the village for storage, or for animals.

Abandoned stone house, which the village lived in until about 30 years ago, before building cement-block houses, like ours.

The regional grammar school. Children from a bunch of surrounding villages come here, total of about 200 kids. The kids from Tuba attend here, the ones whose escorts we monitor every day.

More to come, periodically.

*"Beit" means house. Saying "Beit So-and-so" is like the French way of saying "Chez Paul", or "at so-and-so's house".

2 things,... i am selfish,... my fav pic is the one that has part of you in it,.. at least it looks like it might be you. but i am partial. next thing- i wish i had the courage like you to go and check out places like palestine and jerusalem,... instead of just reading about them in books. you are my hero,... the wind beneath my wings... ok that sounds kind of patronizing,.. but in all seriousness,... i really wish i the courage and the whatever it is you have to do what you do. you are truly a wonderful person.

Actually, thanks, but its not me ;-) I was behind the camera for pretty much all of these.

And thanks for the kind words! Its really quite the adventure, to be honest. Amazing people, amazing places. Its fucked up, that's for sure, but.... still, so beautiful.

I will give you a call soon.
