It's hard to answer these questions, because some things are going better than I could hope for right now, while some things are going just as shitty as they always have. So while I'm trying to focus on the positives, the negatives are still there and I don't have the slightest idea what the fuck to do about them because all the effort so far hasn't worked.

I liked this poll, as you covered what are the most important variants and options for me. Though I haven't worked in a while, I answered as though I were still working as a tech writer, which job I loved. Working freelance got me decent money, though it interefered with the rest of my life during deadlines. Getting hired as staff someplace might have helped that, though.

I like the way folks are all over the map, yet choose the "realistic about paying the bills" option at the end. That is indeed rather basic. If you can't pay the bills, holding together body and soul can become rather difficult.

this becomes an issue of how people interpret a word.

For me "Job" is a fairly neutral word meaning, employment Not meant to be long lasting(and that is open to what that means), a Career is an employment intended to be long term.

Jobs just make you money and if it's something fun, yippee, if not oh well it's just a job.

careers need to be things that make you happy.

example: My job, is sunglass hut, I'm working towards a career in education/musicology.

and that's all I have to say about that.
