Another (not so) small poem

Ok, ok, ok, lets see if this one makes everyone feel less...well, depressed:

What I learned from the ladies...

Erica taught me How To Save My Own Life,
Which I know I would never have been
Able to do on my own.
Meredith kicked me in the ass and said,
Don't be afraid to be a Bitch-
Which sure can come in handy sometimes.
Cindy told me that Girls Just Wanna Have Fun-
Which is not as easy to do as you might
Think, (which, incidentally, is what Aretha
says
I should do from time to time)-
And Amy and Emily handed me back my soul,
Gently teaching me about the mighty
Power of Two.
Gloria assures me that I Will Survive,
Which I'm glad for because, frankly, sometimes
I'm really not sure.
Tracy thinks they should Give Me One Reason-
Which I think is about damned time-
And most importantly of all,
Maya instructs me to hold my head high and be
A Phenomenal Woman!

So I'm going to save my own life, because you
Can't expect anyone else to do it
For you.
And I'm going to learn that it's OK to be
A bitch sometimes- and sometimes not.
I'm going to have some fun-
With- but also without- the Girls.
I'm going to do my damnedest to actually
Think from time to time
(When the situation calls for it).
I'm going to call upon my soul to ignite the mighty
Power of Two.
I'm definitely going to have to
Survive, because there is no other
Option.
I'm going to demand, from now on, that he gives me
Not one, but
Lots of reasons.
And most importantly of all,
I'm going to hold my head high and be
A Phenomenal Woman!
