Jul. 12th, 2002 12:00 pmOk, so that isn't the most upbeat poem I've ever written. I didn't mean to get all depressing, I swear. But at any rate....
la-di-da-di-da Friday is my day off! I was trying to take a nap but even tho I'm still pretty sleepy I felt the inclination to write and to play around online. I should probably be doing something more productive, like laundry or practicing or walking the dog. But frankly, I don't feel like it :-D So I won't. Instead, I'll subject y'all to ME and my RAMBLINGS and RANTINGS. muahahahahaha......
So mom is back in town. And Dad and bro Brian left this morning for 10 days of fishing in northern MN. Ah, I'm so jealous. It's such pretty country up there. Marta is back in town too, after a fabuloso visit to the boyfriend's fam. It's a family whirlwind, actually. On Monday I leave for Colorado, and next Thursday Mom goes to Europe (luckyluckyluckylucky) for free (even luckier) with five middle school kids (ok, not so lucky) for two and a half weeks. I better get some cool souvenirs this time. So that leaves....well, that leaves Marta. And a dog. And four (collective) cats.
Yeah, so I'm really excited about my trip to Colorado ("I'm so excited...I just can't hide it..." *deadpans face*) Gotta do a LOT of thinking about my brain and my future, and it will be just the right time and place to do it, between counting heads and making sure no one gets eaten by a bear or falls off a mountain. Its so funny. I've spent my whole life knowing exactly who I was and who I wanted to be, while my peers went through all sorts of struggles with identities and priorities. And now that we're all at the age where those things are starting to settle in for most everybody else, I'm having second thoughts. Not that I'm wholly DIFFERENT from what I used to think. Maybe becoming more three-dimensional instead of so flat. But nailing down exactly what those other two dimensions are is a little tricky.
Personalities identified so far:
6-year old
old Jewish lady
hippie/beatnik
librarian
mother bear
hmmmmmm must ponder some more...in case of brain overload there is a fire extinguisher in the other room...Oh, and if I'm in the middle of a conversation and I start to go somewhere else, it's better not to ask where ;) See you all SOON!! *big wet kiss*

Date: 2002-07-12 01:45 pm (UTC)Ya no.....dem der moskitos in de nortwoods of MN are like big ol birds. We even have a moskito hunting season. It runs from around Memorial Day to Labor Day. Dem buggers ar reel nasty critters!! Why, one even picked up my sister and halled her off ter de next county. We found her three days later, twitching from anemia. Da Doc thought she'd lost about a gallon of blood from da moskitos.
