violachicCongratulations to SARAHBEAR, the lucky winner of An Evening at the Symphony with Amy! Ok, so its not the Chicago Symphony, but ya gotta start somewhere, right? At any rate, I'm flattered.
I've definitely found my version of hell, tho. Bear with me, if you will, while I set the stage....so to speak.
Imagine.... Its 95 degrees outside. Inside the rehearsal hall, its about 75 degrees. In the audience. On stage, however, due to overambitious lighting, it is pushing 110. You are in the front row, just close enough to the irate conductor to be scowled at and dripped upon. It is the slow movement you are rehearsing, excruciatingly slow. As you proceed to rehearse the SAME TWELVE MEASURES OVER AND OVER your bow arm begins to tremble, and you can do nothing except stare at the observers seated in the audience KNOWING how cool and relaxed they are. Its like that greek guy who got sentenced to an eternity of being in water but not being able to drink. urrrrrrrrrrr.............
Yeah, the funniest part was when the lady sitting next to me picked up her water bottle to drink and muttered "I should have spiked this..." I probably should not have laughed as hard as I did. (Umm...maybe you had to be there??)
Well, the Live Journal magnetic force is at work again.... In just under a week's time you've managed to snag me and Kelly, and I have two more friends just BEGGING for their own. How exciting is that! Ok, since I don't have anything really particularly interesting to say, and since my stream-of-conciousness has dried up, I'm leaving for now. Bye Bye.
