Fill out the following if you want a postcard while I'm gone!

I'll definitely be sending postcards from Jerusalem, and if I have time, I'll send some from Milan. I'm not guaranteeing that, though. I'll only be there for, like, ten hours.

Last night at work update...

I'm super frazzled. I got about 10% of what I wanted/needed to get done today actually accomplished.

It goes to show you how distracted I am that I don't even know if the above sentence makes grammatical sense.

There is a volunteer doing a few days a week filling in for me while I'm gone, and he was here today to get oriented. That took WAY longer than anyone anticipated, and I spent so much time showing him how to do things, I didn't get to a whole bunch of other things. I'm going to get up at my usual time tomorrow- or close to my usual time- to get stuff done at home, and I know some things I needed to do today can be done with a phone call tomorrow morning. I know I'll irritate some of my officemates by some of the things that got left hanging, but that's just kind of too bad, at this point.

Packing is pretty much done. I have a load of laundry to do tomorrow morning before I'll be satisfied. This load includes my favorite sheets, so I know they will be clean and fresh to put on when I get home. At this point, I think there are only a few things left I need to remember, track down, and put in my suitcase.

My flight schedule got changed, so I will be leaving about two hours later than I originally had planned. This makes the schedule really messed up, and I'll end up flying into Tel Aviv at 3:45 am. The plusses to this are that I will have two extra hours to do stuff tomorrow, and that I will have a thirteen hour layover in Milan. Now, a thirteen hour layover sounds awful, but- come on, people, this is ITALY! You bet yer sweet bippie that I'm going into the country now! I'm going to try to get to the cathedral, and if possible, go by La Scala. I intend to also find something to eat, hopefully in some little, hidden, family-run cafe that is off the beaten tourist path. Right. Good luck with that.

iTunes is being a butthead today. Before my sister left for Houston with my loyal laptop, I had been downloading the U2 boxset. The download got interupted, since there wasn't enough time to get it all. So today I set it up to finish downloading, and TOOK FORFREAKINGEVER! I finally disconnected it, rebooted it, and reconnected to iTunes. Now it is on number 124 of the 142 songs remaining to download. I think I will set it up to finish at home, overnight. You better believe I'm not going away without putting that all on my iPod!

Okay. I'm fine, I'm just fine. I'm crazy, but I'm fine.

Last time I was through Milan, the Malpensa airport seemed to me to be one big wireless hotspot, so if this is indeed the case, I will check my online stuff from there. Otherwise, starting now, my email and LJ access will be few and far between.

A word to my loyal fans...

Be good, or be good at it.

Love you all!
