Today is my one-year anniversary of working at the
CPT office. Woohoo! Raise your hand if you remember the photo that was on the home page of that web site the week I started.....

Training is halfway through. Two weeks down, two to go. As is my period of time with mom's car. The training group is great. I realize, though, how easily I fall in love with people. Not like romantic, amorous love, just... like "hey, what
cool people!" kind of falling in love. This can't be healthy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I will just have to accept that twice a year, training will occupy every inch of my being and not plan to have much of a life. Actually, since I have access to a car of my own its not too bad this time. But last week it kept me really busy, and even though I'm going home tonight, later this week it will get hectic again. Any social plans not already made (i.e. none) are the limits of my life for a bit. At least the company here is good.
I managed to get to a
Claire's Boutique yesterday to get some new nose studs. I got one of the new ones in, but I monkeyed with it too much yesterday so its sore today. Later in the week I'll try to take a picture so y'all can see what I look like with a sparkly in my face.
I don't remember
Claire's being nearly that hip when I was a teenager (you know- the appropriate age to be shopping there). It was very sweetsie and cutsie. Nothing like the "diva" and "princess" and the
Happy Bunny paraphernalia they sell now. Its also gone super-hippie in some corners of the store. I guess they're just trying to cover their bases on the whole counterculture thing. "Lets see- we've got hippie, goth, trixie, homecoming queen
and punk. We're all good."
I'm finding myself drawn to the things marketed towards high school and college age girls these days. I don't know if its because it wasn't this cool when I was that age, or I didn't notice it, or if I just wasn't into it, or if I'm just entering a major regression phase. But I love all the day-glo colors and funky designs. Actually, it could be because what I'm drawn to is finally trendy- just for kids ten and fifteen years younger than me instead of adults!
So my Uncle Ed money is finally gonegonegone, but- in my humble opinion- was well spent. My computer rocks, I couldn't stay sane without the iPod, and the new viola case is extraordinary. I've managed to pick up a few more inexpensive things to make my room be the Happy Space I want it to be, and do a few fun things that I wouldn't normally be able to do. I do have a bit of it squirrelled away, but that is for SHEER DOWNRIGHT EMERGENCY ONLY, like the-Apocalypse-has-come-and-there's-only-one-more-flight-off-this-island kind of emergency. Hopefully someday some money I have will also eventually start to earn something resembling interest.
Why is it that the days I'm determined to go home and really start cleaning my room it always ends up over ninety degrees and humid? Yuk.
