I'm having another pancake crisis again.

One of these days I'll actually live in the city, and then I can have all the midnight pancake parties I want.

In the meantime, I think I'll have a really big glass of orange juice and go to bed.

If someone tells you how passionate they are over Monet's lilypad/haystack series, do you assume they can't appreciate the contemporary gallery?

If someone tells you they like Dave Matthews Band do you assume an esoteric indie-rock band will be lost on them?

If someone tells you they love Emily Dickinson, do you assume they won't understand Alan Ginsberg?



Can you love the simplistic and even the cliched, and still have the deeper, more erudite things speak to you?
